A Wedding at Royal Hospital Chelsea
One of our favourite wedding locations in London is Royal Hospital Chelsea. Steeped in history, we always think it makes for a rather special backdrop. Here we share a selection of photographs from a recent wedding at this historic venue.
The bride and groom chose a romantic selection of Roses, Hydrangeas, Lisianthus, Freesia and Peonies for their day. The bridal bouquet featured Roses in delicate shades of white, pink and dusky purple, including Faith Roses, Amnesia Roses and Super Bubbles Spray Roses. Simple buttonholes of Vendella Rose were the perfect complement.
Floral arrangements decorated the ceremony, the courtyard and the Great Hall. As with the bouquet and buttonholes the colours were very soft, with touches of brighter pink from the Honeymoon Freesia and Lisianthus. Luckily the rain held off!
The reception took place in the Great Hall, a fantastic room with panelled walls, beautiful oil paintings and even a 17th Century mural. We created a range of table centrepieces for the dinner using small silver mint julep cups, low silver vases and tall candelabra.
Twelve variations of Rose including Ocean Song Roses, Vendella Roses and Quicksand Roses were nestled amongst Verena Hydrangeas, Classic pink green Hydrangeas and Eucalyptus in the low vases. Scattered petals and tea lights added to the decorative effect.
However, the most decorative feature of all was this wonderful tiered wedding cake with its layers of Hydrangeas and Roses!
